Simbios

Christopher Bruns

I have been a simbios staff computational biologist since March 2005. I am a Ph.D. biologist and computer scientist with significant research experience in cell biology, neurobiology, protein biochemistry, molecular diagnostics, protein crystallography, and bioinformatics algorithm development. I have been creating computer-aided 3D and stereoscopic scientific visualizations since the late 1970s, and I possess some opinions about the design of graphical user interfaces. I will be creating simtk applications with an eye toward usability by clinical and bench scientists. I have always enjoyed creating mathematical solutions to biological problems, and am ecstatic to be working in simbios. I spent years at each of the following institutions before coming to Stanford: Reed College, Digene Diagnostics, Cornell University, The Scripps Research Institute, and Incyte Genomics.
